Murad Hussain is a Professional Engineer with 19 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field. Since joining Bell Canada in 2001, Murad has spent most of his career in designing, constructing, managing and providing training on various Engineering projects across Canada. In 2018, Murad received the Engineers Canada Fellowship honour for his noteworthy service to the engineering profession.


Murad has extensive experience in managing large-scale capital projects. His current role focuses on the roll out of an all-fibre optic broadband network in Oshawa; a $100 million project announced by Bell Canada in 2018. The project plans to offer internet, TV and business communication services to 60,000 homes and businesses in Oshawa, Ontario.


Murad received his Bachelor’s Degree from University of Western Ontario in Electrical Engineering and Masters Degree from Ryerson University. He is a long-standing volunteer with PEO Scarborough Chapter and he was Chapter Chair in 2017 and 2018.  

Synopsis of the Topic:  The presentation will review the theory behind the neutralizing transformer concept for protection of wireline facilities entering electric power stations, its practical application in Ontario’s Power and Telecommunication industry.
