Synopsis of the Topic:  Traditionally a building automation system focuses on HVAC controls. However, recent years with ever greater emphasis on energy efficiency and occupant comfort as well as reducing greenhouse gas emission and LEED certification requirement, Engineers pay more attention on Building automation’s integrations to collect more information and to run system more efficiently via new technologies and enhanced control tools and methods with more data via sensors and reports as well as even big data from internet. This seminar will introduce an award-winning BAS integration project in an existing building which integrated multiple building systems into a common information-sharing network. In 2016 this building automation integration project was awarded first place in PEO York Region’s Engineering Project of year competition.
