About the Presenter:

Jega is currently working at The Municipal Jega Sem 4Infrastructure Group Ltd. as a Project Manager. Jega is responsible for design and construction of a variety of water, wastewater, and collection system infrastructure projects for both public and private-sector clients. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Western Ontario in 2006. He was the Chair of the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO) Collection and Conveyance System Committee during 2018-2020 and has been an active volunteer since 2007. He has also volunteered with PEO Scarborough Chapter since 2010 and became the chair in 2015 for two years. 

Synopsis of the Topic:

Sewage pumping stations are integral part of the sewage collection and treatment system for any municipality. Sewage generated from residential, commercial and institutional areas are generally collected in sewer and lifted to the treatment facilities by sewage pumping station. 

This seminar will provide an introduction to the general design aspects of sewage pumping stations in Ontario, types, selection process, and pumping station components.
