About the Presenter: David Kiguel P. Eng., FEC is the Chair of the Experience Requirements Committee. He was involved in Reliability Modelling, Assessments and Standards during his 36-years career with Hydro One Networks and its predecessor Ontario Hydro until his retirement in 2013. For the last 10 years of his Hydro career he was actively involved in Reliability Standards development and compliance activities in the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC), the North East Power Coordinating Council (NPCC), the North American Transmission Forum (NATF) and the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).

He is a member of the NERC Standards Committee (SC) where he represented Transmission Owners and Canada at large since 2008 until retiring in 2013. He was again elected to the SC for the 2015-2016, 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 terms respectively, now representing Small Electricity End Users. He is also a member of the NPCC Regional Standards Committee and the Ontario IESO Reliability Standards Standing Committee and the Local Advisory Committee for the Metro Toronto Regional Electricity Planning.

Mr. Kiguel is a PEO licensed Professional Engineer (1978). He has been a member of PEO’s Experience Requirements Committee (ERC) since 2004 and the Licensing Committee since 2017. He was Vice-Chair of the ERC from 2015 to 2017 and was elected Chair in 2018 and 2019. He is an IEEE Senior Member (1996), an Engineers Canada Fellow Member (2013) and a 2014 and 2019 recipient of a Volunteer Service Award presented by the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries of the Province of Ontario in recognition for his voluntary work.
