The Spring LPC for the newly licensed Engineers is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 6:00 pm. Certificate Recipients, who accepted our invitation are cordially invited to attend this event at which time they will be presented with a framed Certificate.

Reservations must be made by May 15, 2018. In the event you are unable to attend this ceremony, please contact us at cpc@peoscarborough.ca  immediately. Then, your certificate will be returned to the PEO where it will be mailed unframed to you.

Keynote Speaker

TOPIC: Engineering Skills & Competences for the Future
SPEAKER: Tom Murad, Ph.D., P.Eng. F.E.C., SM.IEEE

Dr. Tom Murad, member of CJPEO Engineering Order of Honour, is a respected leader, thinker, and distinguished speaker on the topics of Engineering, Technology and Technical talents development and education. Tom joined Siemens Canada in 2010, he is the founder of the Siemens Canada Engineering and Technology Academy "SCETA", that he established and directed since October 2014. He is also serving as a member of various advisory Boards of Directors in the Industry and Academia.

Tom has about 40 years of Professional Engineering and Technical Operations Executive Management including Academic and R&D work in Electrical power, Industrial Controls and Automation.

Dr. Murad holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronics), and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Power Electronics and Industrial Controls from Loughborough University of Technology in the UK, with a Leadership Program Certificate from Schulich Business School, York University in Ontario, Canada.

SYNOPSIS: The speech will focus on the Changes in Technology in the New Digitalization Era, and the impact on the Skills and competencies for the new Engineers to accommodate these Changes. It will also address the importance of understanding these Changes and Requirements in Shaping the Next Generation of our Professional Engineers to qualify them in Leading the Economic Growth in Canada.
