The Spring CPC for the newly licensed Engineers is scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2014, at 6:00 pm. Certificate Recipients are cordially invited to attend this event at which time they will be presented with a framed Certificate.

Reservations must be made by May 16, 2014. In the event you are unable to attend this ceremony, please contact us at cpc@peoscarborough.ca  immediately. Then, your certificate will be returned to the PEO where it will be mailed unframed to you.

TOPIC: Risk Management to Drinking Water - Ontario Ministry of the Environment's View
SPEAKER: Aziz Ahmed, P.Eng

About the Speaker: Aziz is Supervisor of Approvals and Licensing at the MOE’s Safe Drinking Water Branch, and he is the Approving Director under Part V and VI of the Safe Drinking Water Act. A graduate of the University of Toronto in Chemical Engineering, he has worked with the MOE since 1988, in a variety of engineering and supervisory positions, in the areas of water treatment and distribution, stormwater management, and industrial wastewater.

Synopsis: Risk management is an orderly methodology of determining what  measures should be instituted to prevent the occurrence of significant risks or responding to those risks should they occur in order to return the process to the desired outcomes as soon as possible (CWWA). This presentation will provide an overview of risks associate with drinking water, and how the Ontario Ministry of the Environment manages the risks.
